Egypt To Install Live Web Camera In Tourist Hotspots To Boost Tourism
Next time you are on a holiday in Egypt and irrespective of whether you are in a cruise ship or enjoying in beach, you shouldn’t be surprised if you are monitored continuously through a web camera. That’s where Egypt is heading to. Hisham Zazou, tourism minister of Egypt has announced plans to install live web camera in all tourist hotspots in Egypt.
This move by the minister comes after the recent political unrest in Egypt. This initiative will instill confidence in travellers mind when they see these live camera at tourism spots, according to Mr Zazou.
Egypt attracted 14.1 million visitors in 2010, 9.5 million visitors in 2011 and 11.5 million visitors in 2012.
Hisham Zazou says,
“It is wrong to say Egypt is a dangerous country because of the protests in the capital. The unrest in one square kilometer in downtown Cairo should not dissuade people from the entire country”
Details on live camera installation timeframe and other details like accessibility for public are unknown at this time.
Similar live web cameras can be found in tourist spots in countries like Jordan, U.S.
