Product 360: Cleartrip’s New Mobile App For iOS – Clearly Thumbs Up
What’s Cleartrip very famous for? What’s that one thing that all customers of Cleartrip speak about? Yes, its “design”, their simple and neat user interface. Customers have been experiencing the great user experience on their laptops /desktops. Today, Cleartrip launched its app for iOS platform. We experienced the iOS app and decided to do our famous “Product 360″ review. The app can be downloaded for FREE from Apple App Store, under the name “Cleartrip”. Right now, only flight can be booked using the app.
As soon as the app is opened, the app “feature explanation” screen shows up (refer screens below). This is nice and engaging. Users will be able to search for flights by selecting the origin, destination, departure / arrival dates, traveller details.
One of the WOW factors in Flight Search screen was the “Pick Travellers” field. Refer the first screen below. This is clearly a +1. Users will be able to select adult, child, infant in a single dropdown field – innovative. They have split a dropdown into three dropdowns. This minimizes 2 clicks. Search results is quite fast. Another +1 for the speed. In the search result page, user will be able to sort by Time, Duration, Price. Upon clicking “Filter”, the screen splits and displays the “Filter Results” section, refer screen below. This is similar in design to the Facebook split screen. In the Filter Results page – selecting the “Stops” is little confusing (because it doesn’t look like a clickable field), and the design of Departure Time field is like the volume scroll bar design in iTunes which is nice.
User will be able to enter the passenger details, payment details to confirm the booking.Users can pay using Credit / Debit / Net Banking. The beauty is – Cleartrip has built in their famous “1-clicking booking Expressway” feature in the mobile app. Users can add their card details and store it to purchase the ticket in a single click. Another +1. May be this is Cleartrip’s “One More Thing” [the famous Apple lingo]
Overall – the mobile app is smooth to use, fast and simple. No ads, no clutter. The app solves the objective. The “simple and engaging” experience of desktop-cleartrip can be clearly experienced in their mobile app as well. The logical next step we guess is – addition of Hotel and Train products in the mobile app. Good launch, Cleartrip! You have really built it with love

What’s up with the skewed screenshots? You do realize they are squished right?
Anon,
You are right. I had to accommodate 3 screens in a row, so reduced the width. Now, I have reduced the height of the images to look normal.
Thanks for pointing out
Hi Karthick Prabhu, thanks for trying by they’re still squished. :/
